Patrimony and Web of data
Published : Events |
The world of patrimony – libraries, archives, museums… – takes the path of the web of data, and initiatives are thriving: the LOD-LAM Summit (Linked Open Data in Libraries, Archives, and Museums) took place in early June and the think tank « Library Linked Data » from the W3C is to publish its report a draft of which is available for commenting.
The roundtable will gather:
- Claire Sibille, manager of the archives processing and digitization at the responsable du bureau du traitement des archives et de l’informatisation au Interministerial service for French Archives of the French Ministry for culture and communication that will present its project of thesaurus for local archives indexation (french), published by the French Archives.
- Emmanuelle Bermès, manager of the project Virtual Centre Pompidou (french), also chair at the think tank « Library Linked Data » of the W3C.
- Romain Wenz, manager of the project « data.bnf.fr (french) » within the Department of Bibliographic and Digital Information at the NFL (National French Library).
All three are working in order to imagine how far technologies from the Web of data will allow the production of valuable metadata, that encourage enhancing, linking and reusing of patrimonial content.
