Wednesday, June 22nd :: 18h00 – 19h00

The Centre Pompidou wishes to develop a new digital presence, centered on the content and the Centre’s experience. That’s why it sets up new devices that would little by little converge. On June 22nd, two of those devices were presented..

18 : 00 The first one, the « Virtual Centre Pompidou » (VPC) is a new website that completely renews the presence of the Centre on the Internet, by placing on the heart of the device a data center that is semantically structured. A presentation of this new website was followed by a presentation of the technical engine itself, by the sponsor of the project: Logica. People who attended were then invited to take place in the beta-test before the site’s opening.

19 :00 The second device, Blinkster, is a artwork recognition device, already presented within the Futur en Seine Festival. People could visit the exhibition rooms and test the device in situ before it’s public opening (the test will be going on for several months). This visit was also an opportunity to tackle with the project’s actores the participatory strategy of the Centre and the forthcoming tools.
